November Employment Report 2016

The labor market continued to tighten in November as employers reached deeper into the supply of underemployed workers to fill full-time positions.  Employers added 178,000 net new payroll jobs in November, consistent with the year-to-date average of 180,000. With the labor market nearing full employment, job gains will not be as large as they were earlier in the expansion. But they are enough to absorb new entrants to the labor force as well as the underemployed and discouraged workers who are a legacy of the recession.

September Employment Report 2015

The September employment report released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics fell far short of expectations and suggests the labor market has decelerated in the last two months.  However, moderate job growth and measured construction activity are supporting tighter leasing market fundamentals.  And interest rates are likely to remain low a while longer, making commercial property attractive to yield-hungry investors.
